Overview

BillQode is a restaurant operations platform for waiters, hosts and managers. It replaces a fragmented stack of paper dockets, POS terminals and messaging apps with a single mobile app — plus an Apple Watch companion for hands-free floor work.

BillQode is designed for the people running the floor — waiters greeting guests, hosts seating parties, managers watching the pass. The brief was to compress reservations, orders, menu edits and guest requests into one calm mobile surface that works during a rush.

02 · Problem

Too many tools, not enough floor.

Restaurant teams juggle a POS, a reservation book, a printer, a WhatsApp group for guest requests and a spreadsheet for the menu. Context lives in someone's head — usually the manager's — and every handover leaks information.

The result is slower service, order errors and reservations that go cold because no one saw the request in time.

03 · Solution

One app for the floor, one glance for the wrist.

The mobile app is organised around four verbs — Home, Orders, Reservations, Manage — with a persistent QR scanner in the centre for pairing tables and devices. The Apple Watch companion mirrors just the moments that need a wrist: new guest requests, quick actions, and QR pairing on shift start.

04 · Watch Companion

Hands-free for the floor.

The Apple Watch app is deliberately narrow: log in via QR, see the freshest guest request, mark it processing or dismissed, and glance at counts. Everything else stays on the phone.

Empty states are designed as first-class citizens — a friendly ‘No requests yet’ illustration instead of a blank screen — and pairing is a single QR scan from the phone, so a shift starts in seconds.
